OCU Welcomes Jay Fagan to Dance Faculty

Tap sensation Jay Fagan is serving as Artist-in-Residence in Tap for the Spring 2007 semester. Mr. Fagan has been trained by tap greats such as Gregory Hines, Dr. Henry LeTang, Sam Weber, Lane Alexander, and Savion Glover, to name a few. Beyond his mastery of tap, he has studied all styles of dance including jazz, ballet, and modern. Mr. Fagan is known for his polished performances at such venues as the Kupio Dance Festival in Finland, Canada’s Windsor Casino, Las Vegas’ Flamingo Hilton, Luxor, and Suncoast Hotel Casinos, and Atlantic City’s Trump Plaza. Additionally, he has taught and performed at a multitude of conventions, master workshops, and dance studios around the world. As a choreographer, Mr. Fagan has created works for Chicago’s ETC (Especially Tap Company) and a variety of revues in Atlantic City and Las Vegas. Mr. Fagan will join the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Arts Management tap faculty in teaching tap technique (OCU offers ten levels of tap instruction) and will teach multiple sections of Rhythm Tap. He also plans to coordinate a tap jam this spring for the many tap dancers at Oklahoma City University.
