Lindsey Craighead to Perform at the Oklahoma Opry

Lindsey Craighead, Entertainment Business major at Oklahoma City University School of American Dance and Arts Management, will perform two vocal solos at the Oklahoma Opry Saturday April 15, 2000, 8 p.m. Craighead will sing Reba McIntire's "Wrong Night" and LeAnn Rimes' "Big Deal." The Oklahoma Opry is located at 404 W. Commerce, at the corner of Walker Avenue in Oklahoma City. For tickets, call 405-632-8322.

Craighead auditioned for the position of featured artists at the Oklahoma Opry over a year ago and was immediately accepted. Since then, she has performed in the Saturday Show once every four to six weeks. Craighead said that membership in the Oklahoma Opry has provided "lots of exposure." Craighead performs country-western and gospel music with a live band and backup singers.

Craighead plans to graduate in May 2001. In addition to her experience with the Oklahoma Opry, she has sung for The Entertainment Connection, Country Music Singer Association, American Legion State Tournament, Woodward Elks Association, and Opryland Productions. She is a member of Students of Arts Management at OCU. She volunteers for Adopt-a-Highway, March of Dimes, Race for the Cure, and American Heart Association. She was a page for State Representative Clay Pope and participated in the Miss Oklahoma Scholarship Pageant.
