Jo Rowan Interviews with Sesame Street Muppet Zoe,
National Dance Week's SpokesMuppet

Sesame Street Muppet Zoe is front-and-center celebrating dance this month. The Children’s SpokesMuppet for National Dance Week, celebrated April 24 – May 5th, Zoe is leading the campaign to encourage young children to be physically and socially active through dance.

Early experiences with creative movement and dance can build self-confidence and can be one of the first ways children express themselves artistically. Children can develop the idea , ‘I am a dancer’—just like Zoe does on Sesame Street—and one of the most important elements is that it is fun to dance and move to music.

ZOE, a great role model for kids, is taking the spotlight in an educational program for the first time. She stars in the special “Zoe’s Dance Moves” (a new video/DVD) with best friend Elmo and singer/dancer Paula Abdul (who plays their dance teacher and shows them a world of dance including African, Asian, hip-hop and ballet) and encourages kids to get up and move

JO ROWAN, a master ballet teacher and performer, is the National Dance Week 2003 Education Spokesperson. Founder and chairman of Oklahoma City University’s internationally famous American musical theater dance program and Director of the American Spirit Dance Company, Ms. Rowan was trained at the School of American Ballet and the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow, holds multiple degrees and has received many awards and honors.

Please join Zoe and Ms. Jo Rowan for a very special Satellite Interview Session on National Dance Week in our New York Studios on Monday April 21, 10AM-1PM ET.
