OCU Dance Alumna Wins Bronze Metal for Choreography

Dance performance alumna Kelly Vitacca won the bronze metal (called the Bronze Leo) at the Jazz Dance World Congress 2001 Choreography Competition. Kelly graduated in May 2001 with a Bachelor of Performing Arts - Dance degree.

Last year, dance performance graduate (BPA-Dance 2000) Rick Twombley's choreography won the silver metal (called the Silver Leo) at the Jazz Dance World Congress, so this is the second year in a row in which an OCU dance alumn has placed in one of the top three positions!

The competition includes works by choreographers from around the world. Winning a bronze, silver, or gold metal immediately establishes a choreographer in the international jazz dance community as artist of significant promise.

The awards are sponsored by Leo's Dancewear, Inc., of Chicago, Illinois.
