Dance performance alumna Kelly Vitacca won the bronze metal (called
the Bronze Leo) at the Jazz Dance World Congress 2001 Choreography Competition.
Kelly graduated in May 2001 with a Bachelor of Performing Arts - Dance
degree.
Last year, dance performance graduate (BPA-Dance 2000) Rick Twombley's
choreography won the silver metal (called the Silver Leo) at the Jazz
Dance World Congress, so this is the second year in a row in which an
OCU dance alumn
has placed in one of the top three positions!
The competition includes works by choreographers from around the world.
Winning a bronze, silver, or gold metal immediately establishes a choreographer
in the international jazz dance community as artist of significant promise.
The awards are sponsored by Leo's Dancewear, Inc., of Chicago, Illinois.
