James Koon is presently associate principal trombone with the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra and adjunct professor of trombone at Oklahoma City University.  James completed his undergraduate at West Virginia University, and has completed masters work at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and Oklahoma State University.  During the summer, he serves as principal trombone at the Sunflower Music Festival in Topeka, Kansas.  His principal teachers include Dr. Keith Jackson, David Vining, and Roger Oyster.
