Henry Browne Jr., a native of Oklahoma City, graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.B.A. and a commission in the US Navy Reserve.
After serving 15 months in Washington D.C. and nearly three years in Italy, Browne joined the Oklahoma Coca- Cola Bottling Company, and transferred to the Ready Reserve where he served as Commanding Officer, Military Training Unit 8-12 and Voluntary Training Unit 1108. Browne attended the Navy War College and a six- week management seminar at Harvard Graduate School before retiring from the military in 1980 as a captain with 22 years of service. In 2011, Browne sold Great Plains Coca-Cola Bottling Co. and retired after 50 years of service.
Browne has served as president of the Okla. Coca-Cola Bottlers Assn., Okla. Bottlers of Carbonated Beverages, OKC Navy League, Touchdown Club of Okla. and Rotary Club of OKC; trustee of the Oklahoma Zoological Trust; treasurer of the OKC Symphony Orchestra; director of Liberty and Union National Bank and Trust; a member of the State Job Training Coordinating Council; and co-author of the book “The Touchdown Club of Oklahoma—The Winning Tradition.”
