Scholarships Opportunities
Each year OCU awards scholarships to more than 80% of eligible and promising freshman, transfer and graduate students. The application for admission is also the application for most scholarships. Scholarships are based on academic merit or performance. Interest in scholarships may be marked on the International Application form. Once an application is complete with all required documents, the application will be evaluated for all possible scholarships. Click on the scholarships you are interested in for more information:
- Freshmen Student Scholarships (First-Year Undergraduate Students, 3.0 GPA and above)
- Petree College of Arts and Sciences and Meinders School of Business and Kramer School of Nursing Departmental Awards (Freshman only)
- Undergraduate Transfer Scholarships (Must have TOEFL 80/IELTS 6.0 or above to qualify for transfer scholarship)

Trustee Award: $7,000 per year (ACT 33-36 or SAT 1460-1600, renewable by maintaining a 3.0 Cum GPA)
Presidential Award: $5,000 per year (ACT 29-32 or SAT 1280-1450, renewable by maintaining a 3.0 Cum GPA)
University Award: $4,000 per year (ACT 26-28 or SAT1170-1270, renewable by maintaining a 3.0 Cum GPA)
Achievement Award: $3,000 per year (ACT 24-25 or SAT1090-1160, renewable by maintaining a 2.75 Cum GPA)
SAT score includes Math & Critical Reading sections only. All awards are renewable up to 7 consecutive semesters with required minimum cumulative GPA.
- Petree College of Arts and Sciences and Meinders School of Business Departmental Awards
Departmental awards are for first-year undergraduate students admitted to the above schools and are based on a combination of ACT/Sat scores and high school GPA or class percentage ranking. Departmental Scholarships are awarded in addition to Freshmen Scholarships.
ACT/SAT Score with 3.0 GPA and Above*
ACT 30-36 or SAT 1460-1600: $15,000
ACT 29-32 or SAT 1280-1450: $10,000
ACT 26-28 or SAT 1170-1270: $7,000
ACT 24-25 or SAT 1090-1160: $5,000
* Test scores exclude writing portion. Awards are renewable if students maintain the required minimum cumulative GPA.
- Undergraduate Transfer Students
Must have TOEFL 550/IELTS 6.0 or above to qualify for transfer scholarship
Transfer Presidential Award: $7,000/yr (Cum GPA 3.70 and up, renewable by maintaining a 3.0 Cum GPA)
Transfer University Scholarship: $5,000/yr (Cum GPA 3.50-3.69, renewable by maintaining a 3.0 Cum GPA)
Transfer Achievement Scholarship: $3,000/yr (Cum GPA 3.00-3.49, renewable by maintaining a 2.75 Cum GPA)
Transfer Opportunity Scholarship: $1,000/yr (Cum GPA 2.50-2.99), renewable by maintaining a 2.50 Cum GPA
GPA is based on student’s final CGPA before transferring to OCU.
- Junior Varsity Athletic Scholarships
Men’s and Women’s Golf: $1,500
Men’s Soccer: $ 1,500
Men’s and Women’s Basketball: $ 1,500
Participants must meet minimum eligibility requirements as set forth by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). JV Scholarship eligibility is determined by respective team head coaches at OCU. All varsity athletic scholarships require audition and selection by an athletic coach.
- Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships
Requirements: Transferring directly from a 2-year school in the US, membership in Phi Theta Kappa (honor society for 2-year schools), at least 48 transfer hours, and a 3.50 cumulative GPA or better.

• Master of Business Administration (MBA)
• Master of Science in Accounting (MSA)
• Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS)
-Recipients must meet admission requirements
-Scholarships may not be stacked and MAY NOT exceed 50% of Full Tuition
-Scholarships do not apply to foundation courses, books, fees or room and board unless stated otherwise
-Scholarships may not be applied to course repeats
MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS
GMAT/GRE Scholarship (MBA, MSA*)

*Scholarships for MSA may not exceed $12,500
Graduate Business Scholarship (MBA, MSA*, MSCS**)
Eligibility: International students graduated from a regionally accredited U.S. institution
Awarded on: Cumulative Undergraduate GPA at Admission
Renewal: Student must maintain a 3.00 cumulative Graduate GPA and Academic Good Standing
•Cumulative GPA 3.750> $12,000 ($1,000 per class)
•Cumulative GPA 3.500-3.749 $9,000 ($750 per class)
•Cumulative GPA 3.250-3.499 $6,000 ($500 per class)
*Scholarships for MSA may not exceed $10,000
**Scholarships for MSCS may not exceed $11,000
Graduate Business Performance Scholarship (up to $9,000) (MBA, MSA, MSCS)
Eligibility: International Students
Awarded on: OCU Cumulative Program Graduate GPA
Restriction: Scholarship is offered in portions based on Graduate GPA
International students taking two or more foundation courses will be advanced $1,000 towards their first semester tuition.
In the student's first semester taking graduate core courses scholarships will be awarded at level 1.
The total scholarship for students with or without foundation courses will not exceed $9,000. Students are eligible to receive remaining scholarship awards in accordance with the following performance levels:

NON-MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS (MBA, MSA, MSCS)
Non-Merit Scholarships cannot be combined with any other merit or non-merit based scholarship from MSB or the university with the exception of scholarships from the OCU Law School. Scholarships exclude foundation courses, books, fees, room and board unless otherwise stated. Please ask Student Financial Services Office for details.
Special Scholarship Pricing Program (MBA, MSA, MSCS)
•$22,000: One Payment paid prior to beginning any program core course
•$24,000: Two Equal Payments of $12,000
-First Installment:paid prior to beginning any program core course
-Second Installment:paid at the beginning of enrollment cycle which includes the eighteenth core credit hour

MA in TESOL
MA in TESOL: $5,000 (TOEFL 600/ IELTS 8.5 or above, GPA 3.00)
MA in TESOL: $4,000 (TOEFL 575/ IELTS 7.5 or above, GPA 3.00)
MA in TESOL: $3,000 (TOEFL 560/ IELTS 6.5/ completion of ELS 112 or above, GPA 3.00)
MA in TESOL 36 Credit hour flat rate scholarship plan $21,000 paid in advance. May not be combined with any other scholarships. (TOEFL of 550/IELTS 6.0 or higher/ or completion of ELS 112. GPA of 3.0)
MA in TESOL 24 Credit hour flat rate scholarship plan $15,000 paid in advance. May not be combined with any other scholarships. (TOEFL of 550/IELTS 6.0 or higher/ or completion of ELS 112. GPA of 3.0)
MA in TESOL Academic Scholarship $1500 per semester up to 3 semesters (GPA of 3.8 or higher. Renewable with GPA of 3.8) Must complete 1 semester before award is made. Cannot be combined with previous scholarship.
MA in TESOL Summer Scholarships $1000 for 6-8 credit hours taken in summer I and II together or $500 for 3-5 credit hours taken in summer I and II together (GPA of 3.8 or higher)
Eun Ju Lee MA in TESOL Memorial Scholarship $1,500 for students in their last semester (GPA of 3.90 in TESOL coursework and leadership skills in the TESOL profession)

- Methodist Congregation Award
$1,000 annually; based upon membership in the United Methodist Church. Students must submit a letter from their pastor indicating membership in a United Methodist Church.
- Minister Spouse or Dependent
Students whose parent is a minister in the United Methodist Church may be eligible for up to 50% tuition remission.
