Learning Outside the Classroom

Oklahoma City University recognizes that students can learn just as much outside the classroom as inside. The Division of Student Affairs offers services aimed at developing students into well-rounded individuals who are connected to campus and the community. Listed below are just a few of the services and activities available:

With an undergraduate population of approximately 1,800, small class sizes, and a residential living campus, the faculty, staff, and students become like family. It is not unusual for faculty to host coffee study hours or campus police officers to help students change a flat tire. OCU offers students a well-rounded academic and extracurricular environment, ensuring that when they graduate they will be prepared to enter the professional world as mature, prepared, and thriving adults.

Now is the Time to File the FAFSA

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is an online form college students and their families submit, which allows the Office of Financial Aid to determine a student's eligibility for federal financial aid. Submit the FAFSA online at fafsa.ed.gov, which is the official website for submitting the FAFSA and it's free to complete! There are other websites, which list a fee associated with the FAFSA, those are not official and should be avoided. The priority FAFSA filing period is January 1  to March 1, annually.

Oklahoma City University will determine eligibility for aid after receiving each student's FAFSA. In order to gain access and sign the FAFSA, both parents and students must register to log in with FSA IDs (Federal Student Aid ID) and passwords. To submit the FAFSA, parents (and students, if applicable) will use 2015 tax information. If taxes have not yet been filed, estimated amounts from completed 2014 tax returns may be used, and then updated after 2015 taxes are filed with the IRS. Those parents (and students, if applicable) who have already filed 2015 taxes will find that utilizing the IRS Data Retrieval system will simplify and expedite the FAFSA submission and verification process.

Remember to submit the FAFSA application early and contact the Office of Financial Aid if you have

questions or need guidance with aid at OCU.
