FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- What is the tuition?
$490 per credit hour. This includes fees but not books.
- Will my credits from other schools transfer to Oklahoma City University?
Generally, yes. We will accept a maximum of 84 credits from accredited colleges and universities (68 credits from two-year college-level institutions) and may grant credit for military service. Our Office of Admissions and academic departments will work with you to make your transfer to Oklahoma City University as seamless as possible.
- What is the process for submitting a portfolio? When does my payment have to be made, and is there a deadline for submissions?
You must first enroll in the Adult Learning Seminar offered in the spring and fall terms. You will create an initial portfolio at no cost as part of the coursework. Subsequent portfolios will require a payment of $400 when submitted to the SACE office for review. The portfolio will not be processed until payment is made. Any portfolio’s that you want to submit must be submitted prior to the start of your last semester in the program.
- What if I'm not a Methodist; can I attend Oklahoma City University?
You sure can! Though Oklahoma City University is a United Methodist-related university, we welcome students of all faiths in a diverse student environment.
- Is the Career Services office available for use by Adult Studies students?
Absolutely! They now offer “walk in hours” – Wednesday & Friday from 1-3pm. Contact them at 208-5171 for further information or to schedule an appointment. They are located in the Meinders School of Business, room 200.
- What is there to do on the Oklahoma City University campus?
A lot! There are so many choices. Whether it's movie night, pizza night, cook outs, concerts, recitals, sporting events, clubs and organizations, Greek life, student senate or intramurals you are looking for, you can find it here at Oklahoma City University. You'll run out of time long before you run out of things to do on campus.
- After graduation, when can I expect my diploma?
Once the final grades are posted, the registrars office will certify all graduation applications and order the diplomas. This process can take 6 – 8 weeks. If you “walk” in the May ceremony, but will complete your coursework in the summer term, you will not receive your diploma until late summer.
