INTERNATIONAL-BASED PROGRAMS

Mass Communications in Singapore
The Mass Communications program in Singapore, hosted through the Petree College of Arts and Sciences, partners Oklahoma City University with the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS).

MDIS is a non-profit organization that offers degrees through partnerships with universities in the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia.

MDIS began partnering with Oklahoma City University in 1992 to provide Singaporean students with a mass communications education.

Undergraduate and graduate degrees in mass communications are offered as part of the program.

Oklahoma City University courses in Singapore are conducted on a modularized system that lasts up to two years and consists of 13 modules.

Each module is three and a half hours a day for nine days. Courses include those on news gathering and writing, television scripting and production, and advertising and public relations campaigns.

The undergraduate modules also include a three-week residency at Oklahoma City University where students complete coursework including that taught in the campus television studio.

All of the courses are taught by faculty from the Petree College of Arts and Sciences. Select faculty members travel to Singapore on an annual basis to teach in their areas of expertise.
