Legacy Scholarship

Purpose  
The OCU Alumni Legacy Scholarship was established in 2006 by the Alumni Association to support children, step-children, grandchildren, and/or step-grandchildren of members of the Oklahoma City University Alumni Association.  The Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate a commitment to the excellence of Oklahoma City University and the community through academic achievement, leadership, and involvement in campus and/or community organizations.  Demonstration of financial need is not required.

Scholarship Amount   
The OCU Alumni Legacy Scholarship is a $1,000.00 per student scholarship awarded in $500.00 increments in the fall and spring semester so long as Applicant continues to meet eligibility requirements.  Recipients of the OCU Alumni Legacy Scholarship must re-apply each year for scholarship renewal.

Eligibility
1)
Applicant must be either admitted to OCU, or a current enrolled student at OCU;

2) Applicant must be a child, grandchild, step-child, or step-grandchild of an Oklahoma City University Alumni Association member;

3) Applicant must meet minimum admissions standards for entrance into the University, or if a current student, be in good academic standing as set forth by the university;

4) Applicant must carry a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.

Procedures to Apply  
Applicant must submit application form, a written recommendation, an official updated transcript, and an essay of 250 words or less stating why s/he feels uniquely qualified for this award.  This application will not be considered for the scholarship without all the required parts.  Applicant may also be requested to interview with members of the OCU Alumni Association Board.
