The Meinders MBA is available in two formats:

Early Advantage 1-Year MBA

The Meinders Early Advantage MBA is a cohort-based, full-time day program for recent college graduates and for career changers. While students typically complete the program within 12 months, they have up to five years to complete the program if needed. Cohorts begin each January and August. No work experience is required.

Professional MBA

A cohort-based evening MBA program providing the flexibility to earn your degree while working and designed for students having a wide range of educational and professional experience. Students continue working and can apply their new skills while earning their MBA. Cohorts start in January and August. While the program is designed to be completed in 24 months, students have up to five years to complete the program if needed. Applicants should have three or more years of relevant work experience.

MBA Curriculum

Classes in the Meinders MBA emphasize the practical application of business theory for making business decisions and solving problems. Guided by highly experienced and knowledgeable faculty, you will master the course concepts and then master the application of these concepts through real-world scenarios and projects.

The 36 credit hour curriculum consists of 12 integrated courses:

While applicants are not required to have undergraduate degrees nor previous study in the field of business, they must demonstrate the likelihood of success in a rigorous graduate program. Applicants are expected to have a basic understanding of analytical techniques and the ability to express and communicate ideas precisely and coherently. Several factors may be evaluated when reviewing an application, including undergraduate GPA, GMAT score, letters of recommendation, professional work experience, academic and professional accomplishments, and TOEFL/IELTS scores (international applicants).

APPLY to the program

Qualified students may complete the degree in 30 hours of study and will have met the educational requirements to sit for the Certified Public Accountant exam in most states.  

Program Highlights

  • Master’s classes are taught in the evening to accommodate working students.

The Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) is a highly structured program designed for students who desire careers in public accounting, corporate accounting, government accounting and similar endeavors. Students obtain an in-depth knowledge of highly technical financial accounting standards, auditing standards, tax statutes and regulations. 

Admission Requirements

Applications are evaluated using several factors, including:

  • Prior college cumulative GPA
  • Professional work experience, academic and/or professional accomplishments
  • Letters of recommendation and personal statement
  • GMAT score*

*GMAT score not required with either (1) 15 accounting hours with ≥ 3.00 GPA (Students planning to take additional Accounting prerequisite courses may be admitted to the MSA program subject to the condition that their Accounting course grades subsequently satisfy this standard) or (2) 5 years accounting experience. International students must demonstrate adequate English proficiency. Prerequisites may be required before student can enter into the MSA program if certain criteria are not met.

The Master of Science in Energy Management degree has a strong, market-driven curriculum that imparts a comprehensive understanding of managing a business in the energy industry. The curriculum is taught in an applied approach by seasoned faculty with years of experience in their field providing a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective. 

In-Class or Live-Streaming, Distance Education

Designed primarily with the working adult in mind, classes meet just one night a week on campus or in a live-streaming, distance education format.  

Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above
  • Two years of relevant work experience preferred
  • Statement of purpose (minimum 500 words) addressing background in the energy industry, business experience, and purpose for seeking degree.
  • Full professional resume
  • Two letters of recommendation from employers/supervisors
  • Qualifying GMAT/GRE score (score may be waived based on work experience)

The total current tuition for the 10 degree courses in either program is $28,080. The total current fees for the 10 degree courses in either program is presently $4690. Tuition at entrance to the program will remain the same during your program, but fees may be adjusted by the University, if necessary. Textbooks are not included. Additionally, beginning with Cohort 8, ALL Energy Management and Energy Legal Studies students will be required to make their Capstone presentations in July of 2017 live, in-person in Oklahoma City.  The expense of any travel for the Capstone presentation is not included in the above-listed tuition and fees.  4/15/15

Students may be eligible for scholarships, including our Corporate Partner Scholarships.

Master of Computer Science (MSCS)

Department Objectives

The Master of Science in computer science degree offers professional development and enhancement of skills, in-depth study of computers, and a balance of abstract knowledge and practical understanding. The program is designed to aid and encourage professional development for persons in computer or computer-related fields. It is designed for students who desire to enhance their computer skills, extend their expertise into computer science as a new field, enhance their credentials, enter the job market as a computing professional, or pursue a Ph.D. in computer science. The curriculum is structured to permit students to strengthen their understanding of the complexities of computers and computer applications and, through choice of appropriate elective courses, to specialize in database systems if desired.

Undergraduate Prerequisites

All graduate students, depending on their undergraduate background, may be required to complete undergraduate courses as prerequisites, specifically Introduction to Operating Systems, Discrete Mathematics, and Data Structures. Transcripts will be evaluated on an individual basis by the graduate faculty.
