In 2010, Chesapeake committed 5 million dollars to the Meinders School of Business to implement a program for incoming freshman that will give them the opportunity to learn business acumen that others spend years learning after graduation. OCU Trustee and alumna, Senior Vice President Martha Burger helped design the program that will see its first graduates May 2014.
Scholars also meet regularly with OCU President Robert Henry and MSB Dean, Steve Agee for networking luncheons and dinners. Oftentimes, a variety of distinguished guest speakers and leaders from business, government, the arts, education and other areas are present to conduct presentations or fireside chats.
Scholars take part in a Chesapeake Presidential Leadership course that gives students the opportunities such as:
- Conducting undergraduate business research
- Networking events
- Team-building competitions
- Community service.
The scholarship provides up to $25,000 in tuition per year for four years. If you know an outstanding Senior, let them know about this exceptional opportunity!
