2008 Arts Integration Symposium

The Priddy Arts Integration Symposium provides opportunities for the OCU community—faculty, staff, administrators, and students—to learn about the arts-integrated courses that have recently been taught on our campus. Each of the Priddy II Fellows will share their experiences in teaching their arts-integrated courses. Presenters will provide their scholarly reflections on their Priddy courses, including learning objectives, assessment of student learning, and the benefits and challenges of incorporating the arts in their teaching.

Tentative dates: November 6-7, 2008
Details on this event will be announced soon.

2009 Teaching Portfolio Retreat

Friday, Jan. 16 (1:00-8:00 PM) & Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009 (8:30 AM-1:00 PM)
At Roman Nose Resort (a one-hour drive from campus)

This intensive, two-day retreat provides an opportunity for OCU faculty to begin the process of producing a teaching portfolio, a tool for documenting professional achievement in teaching. The teaching portfolio is often a component of the promotion and tenure packet, providing useful information for peer review. Participants will learn the components of the document and commence the process of developing a portfolio. At this retreat each participant will have the opportunity to begin the reflective process, obtain peer feedback, and develop a schedule for completing the portfolio.

Space is limited to 20 OCU faculty (including participants and mentors). Meals and lodging will be provided for participants and mentors.

Those who attend the January retreat and complete a teaching portfolio by March 27 will receive a small stipend.

If you would like to attend this retreat, please complete the application form and email to cgarrett@okcu.edu by Wednesday, Dec. 10.
