The undergraduate and graduate commencement ceremonies will be held in the Henry J. Freede Wellness and Activity Center on the Oklahoma City University campus.

Students should line up for the processional no later than 10:30 a.m. for the 11:00 ceremony and no later than 2:30 p.m. for the 3:00 ceremony. Signs will be hanging in the east and west hallways outside the arena to indicate where graduating students (organized by school and/or degree) should line up. Blue Tie Ambassadors will be in place to assist graduates and guests.
Undergraduates' tassels should be on the right side of the cap for the procession. Graduate degree recipients' tassels should be on the left side of the cap and hoods should be draped over the right forearm for the procession and the walk toward the stage.
In order to minimize confusion, guests are asked to seat themselves in the arena and not linger in the lobby and hallways prior to the ceremony.
Graduates are asked to remain outside of the arena until the procession begins.
You are required to present a name card as you walk across the stage during the commencement ceremony. On the day of commencement, graduates should pick up their name cards at the designated tables in the north lobby of Freede prior to lining up for the procession.
As a graduate of Oklahoma City University, you are automatically a member of the Alumni Association. Students participating in the May commencement ceremonies should check out from their campus housing no later than 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 12. Requests to stay as late as Monday, May 13 will be considered on an individual basis. Students may submit a request to stay until Monday by contacting their head resident. All candidates must notify their head resident that they will be staying past the normal check out time (Friday, May 10 at 5 p.m.).
