PREPARING FOR THE CEREMONY
May commencement exercises for graduate and undergraduate students will be held in the Henry J. Freede Wellness and Activity Center on the Oklahoma City University campus. Baccalaureate will be held in the Bishop W. Angie Smith Chapel.
Schedule for Saturday, May 10, 2008.
Baccalaureate, 9:00 a.m.
Undergraduate Commencement, 11:00 a.m.
Graduate Commencement, 3:00 p.m.
Undergraduate students should line up for the processional no later than 10:30 a.m. Graduate students should line up for the processional no later than 2:30 p.m. Signs will be located in the east and west hallways outside the arena for each category of graduating student by school and/or degree.
Marshals and ushers will be in place to assist you. Undergraduates' tassels should be on the right side of the cap for the procession. Graduate degree recipients' tassels should be on the left side of the cap, and hoods should be draped over the right forearm for the procession and as you are walking toward the stage to receive your diploma. In order to minimize confusion, guests are asked to seat themselves in the arena and not to linger in the lobby and hallways prior to the ceremony. Graduates are asked not to enter the arena until the procession begins.
Name Cards You are required to present a name card as you walk across the stage during commencement. Please pick up your card at the designated tables in the lobby.
Announcements, Class Rings, and Diploma Frames Personalized announcements should be ordered at least three weeks before commencement by calling Jostens at 1-800-353-5299 or through their Web site, Jostens.com. Class rings are available to order at the bookstore or online. The bookstore carries a line of diploma frames from Framing Success. Academic Regalia Caps, gowns, hoods, and tassels may be purchased at the Bookstore. Off-campus students may call the Bookstore no later than one week prior to commencement to have their regalia shipped to them at an additional charge.

Honor cords are presented to students through the dean's office prior to commencement.
Alumni Association Stop by the Alumni Association office on the third floor of the Ann Lacy Admissions and Visitor Center to pick up an application for your free, one-year membership in the Oklahoma City University Alumni Association. Contact Jeanne Short, (405) 208-5925.
Taking Care of Business Your account must be paid in full before you can receive your transcript and/or diploma. Students who have obtained a Perkins loan are required, by federal regulation, to complete an exit interview prior to graduation. Please contact Student Account Services, (405) 208-5146.
Financial Aid and Loan Information If you have a student loan, it is a federal regulation that you complete an exit interview/debt management session prior to graduation. You may fulfill this requirement by completing the Stafford Exit Questionnaire online. For more information, contact the Financial Aid Office, (405) 208-5211.
Housing Checkout Students participating in commencement ceremonies will be allowed to check out the day following the ceremony, by noon. Candidates must notify their housemom that they will be staying past the normal check out (Friday at 5pm). For further information, contact the Housing Director, (405) 208-5449.
Library Materials All library materials should be returned and any fines or fees paid no later than the last day of classes. A hold will be placed on your account if any materials are not returned or if fines or fees of more than $5.00 have not been paid. Mail Center A forwarding address must be left with the mail center. Any mail that needs to be forwarded outside of the U.S. will require special arrangements. Mail will be forwarded for no longer than six months. Please contact the mail center, (405) 208-5209.
