Jessica Fay is a versatile performer, choreographer and teacher, with extensive training in tap, jazz, ballet and musical theatre dance. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Dance, academic advisor to the Dance Management majors, and choreographer for The American Spirit Dance Company.
Fay has a wide array of professional performance experiences including variety shows in Branson, featured roles with the Minnesota Ballet and the Summer Olympic Games. She toured nationally with the Minnesota Dance Ensemble, performed at Disney World, half-time shows, dinner theatres and in professional musicals. One of the highlights of her performance career was dancing in a United States Goodwill Ambassador tour to Russia, Estonia and Latvia.
Fay hails from Minnesota where she began her early training with Charlotte Wendel. She received scholarships to pursue additional training with the Minnesota Ballet and the Zenon Dance Company. She holds a Bachelor of Performing Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from Oklahoma City University. She served as artistic director and sole choreographer for her original thesis dance production, Shades of Love. Fay is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
In addition to dance, Fay is also engaged in artistic administration and arts management. She recently returned from a faculty development trip to Ireland where she researched and studied how arts management is conducted on the international level.
