The Spirit of Grace Liturgical Company The Spirit of Grace Liturgical Dancers, under the direction of Kelli Stevens, performs in the Oklahoma City University chapel and at churches throughout Oklahoma. OCU Pep Dancers The OCU Pep Dancers perform at home basketball games under the direction of Alana Martin. Oklahoma Opera & Music Theater Company The Oklahoma Opera & Music Theater Company provides opportunities for students to dance in two fully-staged musicals and two operas each season with choreography by various members of the dance faculty. ClassesEach year, the American Spirit Dance Company brings in a guest choreographer to set a piece on selected company members. This opportunity allows dancers to work with choreographers outside of OCU, such as Matthew Dickens and Rhonda Miller. And More... Special performance opportunities are created from time to time, such as a recent presentation of Dames at Sea directed by former Associate Professor of Dance Lyn Cramer. The international production was canceled due to global tension and was presented instead in an intimate theatre setting on campus to enthusiastic audiences. Cramer provided yet another performance opportunity with her Music Theatre Dance class' presentation of Pippin, presented April 26 & 27, 2000 in Studio D. The Music Theatre Dance class' latest project, selections from A, My Name is Alice, was presented December 6, 2000 in an intimate setting in Studio A before an appreciative audience of family and friends. |
