Kay Sandel has danced
professionally with the Chicago Ballet Company, Chicago Lyric
Opera Ballet, and Ballet Oklahoma. She studied with Roman Jasinski
and Moscelyne Larkin, former members of the original Ballet Russe.
She was awarded a Ford
Foundation scholarship to dance with the National Ballet of Washington,
D.C., under the direction of Frederick Franklin, where she also
studied with Maria Swoboda and Oleg Tupine.
Sandel owned
studio for 28 years, developing students who have been accepted
into professional companies and school such as the School of American
Ballet, North Carolina School of the Arts, and Joffrey.
Kay has taught
dance at the University of Oklahoma and currently teaches all
levels of ballet classes, Ballet Pedagogy, Anatomy and Physiology
for Dancers, assists with the new Master Teacher Program, and
choreographs for The American Spirit Dance Company.
