In 1996 Terry Conley joined the faculty of
the Department of Biology. He has served
as chair of biology and associate dean of the college. While at the University
of Iowa, Conley was recipient of a graduate fellowship funded by the
Midwest Plant Biotechnology Consortium. He received a postdoctoral fellowship
from the National Science Foundation. Conley received the 2005
Outstanding Faculty Award and was listed in Who's Who Among American
Teachers in 2004 and 2005. In his leisure time, Conley enjoys gardening,
hiking, rock climbing, and reading.

Richard Johnson joined the faculty of the
Petree College of Arts and Sciences in 1997
following nine years of teaching at Northwestern
Oklahoma State University. He
was named political science teacher of the year by the Oklahoma Political
Science Association in 1994 and served as president of that association in
2000-2001. Johnson is chair of the Political Science Department and serves
as faculty advisor to several student groups including the Young Democrats,
Oklahoma Inter-Collegiate Legislature, and Pi Sigma Alpha. He enjoys travel,
particularly to Southeast Asia, reading, tennis, gardening, jogging, and weight
training.

Dr. Jeri Jones

Jeri Jones joined the faculty of the Meinders
School of Business in 1995. She was chair
of the marketing department prior to being
named assistant dean. Jones has served as an
expert witness and consultant for a number
of entities including First Fidelity Bank, Globe Life and Accident Insurance
Company, and Beautyco. She is the 2007 recipient of the Distinguished
Professor Award given by the Meinders School of Business and has been
recognized on several occasions for her work with the Atlantic Marketing
Association. Originally from Albuquerque, Jones enjoys horses and her
work with children at Equine Ministries, and boating, wake boarding, and
water skiing. She attends Crestview Baptist Church.

Hyacinthe Aboudja is originally from Benin,
West Africa. He was an instructor of electrical
and computer engineering at the National

to complete his doctorate. While in
Arkansas, he taught computer science and mathematics. He enjoys reading,
music, soccer, and volunteer work, and he is a member of Toastmasters
International.

Dr. Steve Agee

Steve Agee spent one year teaching at
Washburn University in Kansas prior to
founding an oil and gas company in 1982.
He served as president of the company until
2005. In 2005, he returned to teaching and
in 2008 was named director of the Economic Research and Policy Institute
in the Meinders School of Business and professor of economics. Agee is
a board member of the Oklahoma City Branch of the Federal Reserve
Bank of Kansas City, a board member and treasurer of the Economics Club
of Oklahoma, a member of the Oklahoma City Economic Roundtable,
and former president of the Petroleum Club and the Oklahoma Energy
Resources Board. He is also president-elect of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic
Orchestra. Agee enjoys research, working out, traveling, and cooking.

James Buss's academic interests include early
American and Native American history and
the history of race in the Americas. He is also
an affiliate member of the Oklahoma City
University Women's Studies program. He
was a research fellow with the Committee
for Institution Cooperation, American Indian
Studies program at the Newberry Library in Chicago and held a research
fellowship at Purdue University. Buss was an event manager for the 2008
NCAA National Golf Championship and writes, "needless to say, I love
golf." He enjoyed working with local museums in Ohio, his home state, and
hopes to work with the Oklahoma museums in the future.

Prior to his doctoral studies at Georgia State
University, Bryan Cardinale-Powell was a
freelance writer and producer of a number
of projects for Georgia Public Broadcasting.
He is the recipient of a Southeast Region
Emmy Award for Public Service Announcements, a Georgia Association
of Broadcasters Award, and a scholarship from the Atlanta Better Films
Council for a research project on the history of film reception in Atlanta.
His interests include public schools, photography, computer culture, movie
musicals, American independent cinema, and movies directed by Mike
Leigh, Jim Jarmusch, John Cassavetes, and Spike Lee.

Ben Corbett has worked as an actor, education
director, and vocal coach and has taught

He is a Linklater voice teacher trainee and a member of Actors' Equity Association.

Pierre Cyr taught English composition, technical
and business writing, and world literature
at Auburn University. He is recipient of the
Mildred Enloe Yates Fellowship and the
Presidential Graduate Fellowship. A native
of Houston, Cyr's research interests include rhetorical theory; histories of
rhetoric, especially classical rhetoric; and composition theory and pedagogy.
Of particular interest is the relation between Plato's dialogues and the field
of rhetoric and composition.

The Journal of North African Studies titled "The Western Sahara Conflict: Towards
a Constructivist Approach to the Self-Determination Discourse." His
numerous academic interests include comparative politics, Middle East and
North African politics, political violence, and international relations theory.

Amanda Divin has worked as a teaching assistant

She was also an adjunct professor at Houston
Community College. She is a certified
pulmonary function technician and a certified
strength and conditioning specialist. Divin is originally from Waller, Texas,
a small farming community northwest of Houston. Her research interests
include stress and health behaviors, particularly in athletes, and childhood
obesity. In her leisure time, she enjoys playing with her two nieces-the
younger born in September 2008-and working out, watching forensicbased
television programs, and teaching fitness classes.

for Best Lighting. Eader is originally from Alvin, Texas, and enjoys cycling,

Jay Fagan has performed in cities across the
U.S., including Las Vegas, and has performed
in Finland and Canada. Originally from Chicago,
Fagan has also taught and performed
at numerous dance camps, in master classes,
and at workshops and dance festivals around
the world. He has won numerous awards for
choreography and dance performance. When
he's not teaching or performing, he enjoys
writing and recording songs, and music research. He also enjoys performing
with his sister in a their longtime dance act.

Betty Gorrell has over forty years of experience

vice president. She is a current member of the task force on bylaws for Sigma
Theta Tau International Honor Society and a member of the American
Nurses Association and the Oklahoma Nurses Association-where she is

Dr. Melissa A. Hakman

Melissa Hakman is a clinical psychologist
specializing in children and families. She has
taught at the University of Richmond and
Western Kentucky University prior to accepting
a position in the psychology department
at Oklahoma City University. She is a
recipient of a SE4A Positive Images in Aging
Award by the Southeastern Association of
Area Agencies on Aging and an Outstanding Teacher Award at Western
Kentucky University. She is a member of the American Psychological Association,
the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, and the
Southwestern Psychological Association. Her research interests include
parent child interactions and risky behavior in adolescents. Her leisure
interests include baking-she won second place in the 2007 Duncan Hines
Cooking Contest, Broadway productions, skiing, ice skating, roller blading,
movies and concerts, travel, and spending time with her husband and their
shih-tzu.

Ms. Rebecca J. Hammond

Rebecca Hammond enjoyed a diverse career
as a registered nurse prior to joining the
faculty of the Kramer School of Nursing. She
worked for twelve years in labor and delivery,
coordinated a nonprofit prenatal program
for pregnant adolescents, served as the nurse
of a large community college, and worked as a nurse in corrections. She
also taught nursing as an adjunct faculty member at Mount Mercy College
for ten years prior to coming to Oklahoma City University. Hammond
earned certification through the International Childbirth Education Association
and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society
in 1998. Originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Hammond enjoys working
with underprivileged teens and pregnant adolescents. In her leisure time,
she enjoys the arts and music, painting, and reading.

Aixin "James" Ma taught corporate finance
and investments while completing his doctorate.
Prior to that he spent four years as an
equity trader on Wall Street and four years
as an international trade representative in
China. He holds NASD Series 7, Series 55,
and Series 24 licenses, led the company team that won the 1992 Henan
Province International Trade Knowledge competition, and presented, by
invitation, his dissertation on socially responsible investing at the 2008
Seoul International Derivatives Securities Conference. Ma is originally
from Zhengzhou, China, a city of three million people, but lived in Windsor,
Connecticut, before relocating to Oklahoma City. He admits to loving new
technologies and gadgets. Other interests include travel and fantasy movies
such as Harry Potter, E.T., and Lord of the Rings.

Sara Manning joins the Kramer School of
Nursing faculty after sixteen years of working

was raised in Michigan, but has spent most of her adult life in Enterprise,
Arkansas. When she has time to relax, she enjoys "trying to grow flowers,"

professional musician and has taught both
music and library science. McBirnie relocated
from London to join the library faculty at OCU. Among her accomplishments,
she lists performing in the presence of HM The Queen aboard the
Royal Yacht Britannia. She has also performed at Orford Arts Festival and
Banff Music Festival and given recitals in Europe and North America. Mc-
Birnie is doing research for her Ph.D., and enjoys jazz, dog walking, watching
films, and drinking tea ("English-style, of course!").

Lee Peoples joined Oklahoma City
University in 2002 as a staff and adjunct
faculty member. Prior to converting to
a tenure-track position, Peoples served
as director of international programs, a
focus he will continue as a faculty member.
Peoples was an attorney with Klingenberg and Asssociate before becoming
a law librarian at Oklahoma City University. Peoples also directs the
Certificate in American Law Program for Nankai University law students
and the Tianjin Bar Association lawyers. Peoples enjoys cooking, gardening,
and travel in his leisure time.

Kate Pritchett teaches French horn and

Award for adjunct faculty. Pritchett has played
with a number of professional musical ensembles including the Oklahoma
City Philharmonic, Lawton Philharmonic, Dallas Opera Orchestra, and the
Oklahoma City Brightmusic Chamber ensemble. Originally from Colorado
Springs, Pritchett enjoys playing the piano, sewing, reading, and outdoor

in Houston; assistant technical director for

of drama at the high school and university
levels. He is the recipient of a Theta Alpha Phi "Alphi" Award for best
technical direction and a University of Arizona Graduate Student Council
Showcase Award for Fine Arts/Theatre: Physics of Theatre. Rauschkolb's
professional interests include automated scenery, and he enjoys sailing,
kayaking, swimming, and photography in his leisure time.

the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music and has spent twenty years as a
private voice instructor. She is also a composer and has released five CDs

In 1996, she received her Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) from Midwestern State University. She holds a National Certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Since 1996 Prof. Schleider has practiced in an acute emergency room setting and outpatient pediatrics clinic as a FNP. |

Alan Seals just finished his Ph.D. in labor
economics and is teaching Econometrics
and Principles of Microeconomics this fall at
Oklahoma City University. He has an article
titled "The Decline of Maize Prices, Biodiversity,
and Subsistence Farming in Mexico"
(with Joachim Zietz) forthcoming in American
Economist and his primary interests are economic analysis of law and crime
including the effects of family law on child outcomes and economic determinants
of gang participation. When not engaged with economics, Seals
enjoys studying history, science, mathematics, and philosophy.

Mr. Kewei Sha
Visiting Assistant Professor of Computer Science

M.S., Ph.D. candidate, Wayne State University
B.S., East China University of Science and
Technology
Kewei Sha's research includes distributed
systems, wireless sensor networks, vehicular
networks, and mobile computing. He was a
graduate assistant for three years in the computer
science department at Wayne State University prior to joining the
computer science department at Oklahoma City University. Originally from
Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, which is in eastern China near Shanghai, Mr.
Sha has won numerous awards as an undergraduate and graduate student
including a General Motors Corporation Academic Award. In his leisure
time, Sha enjoys travelling, reading, listening to music, and playing cards.

Dr. James A. Smith
Assistant Professor of Marketing

B.A., M.B.A., Wayne State University
James Smith joins the faculty of the Meinders
School of Business where he will teach marketing
and international business. His previous
teaching experience includes adjunct
faculty positions at Wayne State University,
Saint Louis University, and St. Louis Community
College. Mr. Smith is originally from Sacramento, California.

Mr. Lee Webb
Assistant Professor of Library Science

Lee Webb joins the Dulaney-Browne Library
faculty as the theology and information
literacy librarian. His previous library
experience includes working at the Norman
Public Library. Webb is a native Oklahoman,
originally from Tecumseh. In addition to his
professional interests, he enjoys spending time with family, reading, and
staying involved with his church.

Mr. Rand Wergin
Visiting Assistant Professor of Marketing

B.S.B., Oklahoma State University
Rand Wergin served as an adjunct faculty
member and student advisor at Oklahoma
State University for six years before joining
the Oklahoma City University faculty. Prior
to teaching in higher education, Wergin was
a teacher and administrator at a private K-12 school. He is a recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award and
the Speers Outstanding Instructor award. He is an avid cyclist and runner,
adult leader in Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts, and a Sunday school teacher
and mentor to young adults.

Dr. Ally A. Zhou
Assistant Professor of TESOL

B.A., Central China Normal University
Ally Zhou has taught English at universities in
China, Canada, and the U.S. She was a postdoctoral
fellow at the University of Alberta
and currently serves ast the Higher Education/
Applied Linguistics chair for OKTESOL.
Zhou is originally from Jingzhou, China, but
considers Toronto her second home. She enjoys spending time with her
family, cooking, watching movies, and traveling.

Mr. Tomasz Zieba
Instructor of Music

Cello Performance Diploma- Music Academy
in Krakow, Poland
Tomasz Zieba has been teaching cello at
Oklahoma City University since 2003 as an
adjunct faculty member. He has also taught
at Tarrant County Junior College. He is the
associate principal cellist for the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and the principal
cellist for the Irving Symphony Orchestra and the Plano Symphony
Orchestra. Zieba is originally from Krakow, Poland. He enjoys teaching and
preparing students for competitions and orchestra job openings and enjoys
promoting symphonic music among students.
