Undergraduate Scholarships
You’ve worked hard; now we’ll reward your accomplishments!
At Oklahoma City University your application for admission is also your
application for scholarships. When completing your application for admission,
indicate the types of scholarships for which you would like to be considered.
Students are strongly encouraged to apply for admission and scholarships
early while scholarships are most abundant. In most cases, scholarships
are stackable but may not exceed the cost of tuition.
Chesapeake Energy
Presidential Scholars Program
This innovative and challenging academic program will be awarded to high school seniors from the state of Oklahoma attending Oklahoma City University as full-time undergraduate students in the Meinders School of Business. This program is coordinated by MSB faculty in conjunction with designated Chesapeake representatives. The OCU president will conduct regular meetings with distinguished national and international guest speakers. The recipients could receive up to a $25,000 scholarship for tuition per year or may stack this award with other awards up to the cost of tuition. THE DISTINGUISHED NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS AND INTERNSHIP OFFICE
The Distinguished National Scholarships and Internship Office at OCU can provide information about national scholarships and internships as well as Oklahoma scholarship opportunities. Dr. Abigail Keegan, the coordinator, offers advice to students on scholarship and intern preparation and assists students throughout the application processes.

THE FRANK G. BROOKS SCHOLARSHIP
The Frank G. Brooks Scholarship is a competitive full-tuition scholarship that will be awarded to an outstanding science student choosing to attend Oklahoma City University. The Frank G. Brooks Scholarship Committee will assess multiple criteria, including but not limited to ACT/SAT scores, grade point average, letter of recommendation from a teach or mentor, community involvement, and need. THE GREAT PLAN SCHOLARSHIP
The Great Plan Scholarship is a competitive four-year scholarship covering tuition, basic room and board, and fees that is awarded to a graduating high school senior who intends to study pre-medicine at Oklahoma City University. The Great Plan Scholarship selection committee will assess multiple criteria, including but not limited to ACT/SAT scores, grade point average, letter of recommendation from a teacher or mentor, community involvement, and need. CLARA LUPER AND AMERICAN INDIAN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS
These respective four year, scholarship programs present outstanding opportunities for academically accomplished and community service-oriented students from underrepresented populations. Students must complete a separate application (in addition to the regular undergraduate application for admission)

OIKOS SCHOLARS
All Oikos scholars will participate in service learning projects each year,
complete courses addressing issues of peace, justice, and ecological
sustainability, and are required to complete at least one approved
international education experience while at Oklahoma City University.

UNIVERSITY ACADEMIC MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS FOR FRESHMEN & TRANSFER STUDENTS
Academic scholarships are based on ACT or SAT test scores (freshmen only),
high academic ability as indicated by grade point average, and writing
ability as demonstrated within the essay portion of the application for
admission. Full-time enrollment (not less than 12 hours) is required for
scholarship.

PETREE COLLEGE OF ARTS & SCIENCES, MEINDERS SCHOOL OF BUSINESS AND KRAMER SCHOOL OF NURSING DEPARTMENTAL AWARDS (Freshmen Only)
In addition, students who are admitted to the Petree College of Arts and Science, Meinders School of Business or the Kramer School of Nursing will be awarded a departmental scholarship in conjunction with the academic merit scholarship. This award is based on a combination of the student ACT or SAT and High School GPA.

OKLAHOMA CITY UNIVERSITY ALUMNI LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP
For children and grandchildren of Oklahoma City University’s Alumni Association members. In order to be eligible, applicants must meet minimum admissions standards for entrance into the University, or if a current student, be in good academic standing as set forth by the University. To apply, submit the Oklahoma City University Legacy Scholarship Application, a written recommendation, an official updated transcript, and an essay of 250 words or less stating why you feel uniquely qualified for the award. Applicants may be requested to interview with members of the Oklahoma City University Alumni Board. The scholarship is an annual award of $1,000 and requires resubmission of application materials each year for renewal consideration. Applications are available at the Alumni Association Office. LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP OCULEADS
In addition to the university academic merit-based scholarships, after completing your FAFSA you will be evaluated for further need based departmental and university scholarships and endowments. To be eligible you must complete a FAFSA, including the verification process if selected and a need-based scholarship application. These awards will be granted on your overall outstanding need.
Leadership Scholarship
- $1,500 for one year only
- Selected from past leadership experiences and the essay portion of
the application for admission
- OCULeads recipients meet weekly during freshman year
- May be combined with other University scholarships not to exceed the cost of tuition

Phi Theta Kappa
Scholarship - $4,000
Candidates must be an active member of their
Phi Theta Kappa chapter, have 48 semester-quality
hours and at least a 3.5 GPA. This scholarship may
be combined with other Oklahoma City University
institutional scholarships but may not exceed the

THE UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
The Undergraduate Research Program is open for students who have proven research and academic skills from high school credentials.
Students are required to have a minimum ACT score of 27 in addition to a solid high school GPA and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). A letter of recommendation is required to be considered for this prestigious scholarship award. This award is not stackable with any other university scholarship.
The Undergraduate Research Scholarship selection committee will assess multiple criteria, including but not limited to ACT/SAT score, grade point average, letter of recommendation from a teacher or mentor, community involvement and need. An interview will be scheduled with selected applications.
Scholarship application deadline is March 1, 2010 with notifications being made by March 31, 2010.

METHODIST SCHOLARSHIPS
Bishop Scholar Award
The Bishop's Scholar Award provides up to the full cost of tuition for
four years for eligible applicants. To be eligible for the Bishop Scholar
award, students will meet the following criteria:
- Be a high school senior, entering OCU as a first year student through
the university's regular admission standards.
- Hold membership in a United Methodist Church
- Obtain recommendation from the senior pastor of the student's church
- Maintain full-time enrollment in the Wimberly School of Religion & plan to pursue a career in Christian service
in the United Methodist Church
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (in core curriculum classes
only)
- Reside in campus housing freshman through senior years.
Methodist Congregation Award
- $1000 annually, based upon membership in the United Methodist Church
- Submit a letter from your pastor indicating your membership in a
United Methodist Church
Minister Spouse or Dependant
Students who are a part of the United Methodist Church may be eligible

1800wheelchair.com Scholarship Award
Participants must meet the following criteria:
The 1800wheelchair.com scholarship awards two $500 scholarship each year. Our past essays have explored mobility issues on campus and much more. To enter the scholarship student follow these guidelines:
- Enrolled at an accredited high school, college or university in the U.S.
- Enrolled at the undergraduate level
- Age sixteen (16) years or older
- Legal resident of the U.S. or hold a valid student visa
- Carry a status of “Good Standing”
- maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0
- Submit their essay by 5:00 p.m. EST on June 1, 2010
- Essay should be 300 to 500 words in length
