Projects
Creative projects are a big part of the grades for this course. Three such projects are required: one for each section. These are very different from the papers that are required: these are designed to encourage (indeed, require) students to think beyond the box of normal academic work. I want you exploring history as an active, creative learner. So the limits of these projects are few.
Each project must be completed and submitted on or before the last day of that section. That day, which would normally be dedicated to an exam covering that material, will instead be devoted to a class review of all projects. Your peers will be evaluating your projects, and you theirs! That evaluation will form a significant portion of your grade for your project for that section.
On the first section’s study pages, I have provided some ideas for acceptable projects, but don’t be limited by these! They are simply suggestions and intended to show how you might proceed. If you need help, don’t hesitate to ask!
Each Project MUST:
Be original work that illustrates, analyses and synthesizes some facet(s) of the material within that secton.
 Be visual or aural
    - Poems must be performed either by the poet or a class colleague. This can be done live or on tape/video/podcast.
  - Performances of material not written by the student are encouraged and those performances are the original work. Such performances can be done individually or as group work. consult the syllabus for further details.
Be informed by and conform to the standards set forth in the appropriate rubric.
Submitted on or before the final day of that section.
Performances are strongly encouraged!
