Admission Requirements

Admission to the University Honors Program is separate from admission to Oklahoma City University. The following students are eligible to apply:

· For first-year students, eligibility is based on the following: ACT score of 27 or above or a high school GPA of 3.75 or above.

· For transfer students, eligibility is based on a GPA of 3.5 or above. Up to twelve hours of Honors credit from another college or university will count toward University Honors Program requirements.

· For currently enrolled OCU students, eligibility is based on a GPA of 3.5 or above based on a minimum of 12 OCU hours.

Qualified students must submit an application and write two essays selected from a list of three. The Honors committee will review the essays based on substance and content; correctness of grammar; demonstration of conceptual thinking; balanced point of view; development of ideas; organization and originality.
