Oklahoma City University
Administrative Services - Prospective Faculty
A Message From The Provost
Thank you for your interest in becoming a faculty member at Oklahoma City University. This is a vibrant institution full of thoughtful, service-oriented students. It takes bright, dedicated individuals to teach such great students. Our faculty comprises engaged teachers who challenge students in the classroom and beyond through undergraduate and graduate research, creative endeavors, service-learning opportunities, and cutting-edge technology. OCU’s commitment to the faculty has just been enhanced by a $1.6 million grant for faculty development as part of a larger donation to establish the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning and the Fine Arts Institute, whose combined mission is to infuse the arts across the curriculum and into the larger community.
I encourage you to examine our Web site. You will see that in addition to our strong liberal arts core, Oklahoma City University boasts nationally renowned schools of music and of dance and arts management. The Meinders School of Business is leading the way in structuring a curriculum that focuses on international business, and all undergraduate students benefit from the university’s unwavering commitment to incorporating service learning into all majors and from an Honors Program led by the past president of the National Collegiate Honors Council.
You should also take a look at our diversity link. You will see that Oklahoma City University is committed to diversity in our faculty, staff, and student populations. We strongly encourage applications from underrepresented populations and, perhaps more importantly, celebrate diverse political, social, cultural, and religious views on our campus.
In my four years at OCU, I have seen remarkable advances at this institution. We inducted the charter members of our Phi Kappa Phi chapter. Our Law School earned membership in the prestigious Association of American Law Schools. We strengthened faculty governance, including naming the chair of the faculty senate as an ex officio member of the board of trustees with full voting privileges. Two of our students were named Goldwater scholars. These are just a few of the great strides being made here, and our faculty is instrumental in expanding our list of accomplishments.
Follow the links below for complete job descriptions and for information about Oklahoma City and the State of Oklahoma. This is a vibrant and growing city with diverse cultural, social, educational, and athletic activities for young and old. If you meet our qualifications and are ready to help lead OCU into its second century, we welcome your application.
Sincerely,
Bernie Patterson
