A Great College to Work For!

Oklahoma City University is among the best colleges to work for in the nation, according to The Chronicle of Higher Education's "2008 Great Colleges to Work For" report, released this week. [ view rankings (.pdf) ]

The Oklahoman published a story and an editorial congratulating OCU in today's newspaper and The Tulsa World published an article Tuesday.

OCU was among the Top 5 universities in 16 workplace categories. The Chronicle analyzed survey responses from employees, workplace policies and demographic data in 27 categories. OCU is the only Oklahoma university appearing in The Chronicle of Higher Education's "Great Colleges to Work For" list in the small colleges category.

"We try hard to have a workplace that encourages collaboration and participation," said OCU President Tom McDaniel. "More than anything, this is an environment where everyone feels included."

The Chronicle listed the Top 5 universities in each category alphabetically. OCU was listed in the Top 5 in the following categories:

The results are published in The Chronicle's July 18 edition. Oklahoma City University also is the only university in Oklahoma ranked one of the 2008 Best Place to Work in Oklahoma by OKCBusiness.
