Oklahoma City University
Humanities Program

THE PROGRAM

The humanities major is designed for students who desire a broad undergraduate education with some specialization in one or two areas.

By providing a broad, general education, the humanities degree is excellent preparation for students wishing to pursue higher degrees and careers in a variety of fields, including English, law, and mass communications.

In addition to the General Education requirements, a minimum of 30 hours and a maximum of 40 hours in coursework from the Humanities Division are required for a major in Humanities. Any hours in Humanities beyond the maximum of 40 must count as electives.

All coursework presented as a requirement for the Humanities major must have received a grade of "C" or higher. A minimum of 12 semester hours in Humanities coursework must be completed in residence at Oklahoma City University.
