Off-Campus Recruiting Programs and Job / Career Fairs

The PCDC is actively involved in organizing and promoting off-campus recruiting opportunities through job and career fairs each year.  Job fairs are organized by:

OCU LAW students are invited and encouraged to explore by clicking on the following opportunities: Minority Recruiting Programs, Public Interest Recruiting Programs, and Specialized Recruiting Programs.  If you do not see what you are interested in pursuing, please visit the NALP web site for a comprehensive listing of job and career fairs around the country.  Some are open to all interested law students and others will be limited to invited law schools only. 

Some job fairs have registration fees (per student and/or law school). The PCDC has budgeted to cover the fees for some of the fairs as indicated in the above linked pages with an *.  Students are responsible for their own travel costs.  The terms 'job fair' and 'career fair' are sometimes used interchangeably.  Typically, with job fairs, employers interview for open positions.  In contrast, career fairs offer information about an employer / industry / practice area, but may not feature employers who have openings but are simply offering information.  Both options are excellent ways to gather information and make professional contacts. Many fairs have specific goals with respect to areas of practice and diversity and will attract certain types of candidates based on those criteria.
