SCHOLARSHIPS FOR LAW STUDENTS

Each year, OCU LAW awards over one million dollars in scholarship assistance to our students.  All first-year applicants are considered for merit scholarships.

Hatton W. Sumners Scholarships (full-tuition awards)

Oklahoma City University School of Law is one of only two law schools in the country to receive the generous assistance of the Hatton W. Sumners Foundation to help fund several full-tuition scholarships for incoming OCU LAW students.  Click here for detailed application information. (Applications due February 1).

scholarships for incoming students

All applicants to OCU LAW are considered by the Admissions Committee for renewable scholarships   These awards are based primarily on excellence at the undergraduate level and a strong performance on the LSAT.  Additional factors such as leadership, service, diversity, work experience, and a clear commitment to the values and ethics of the legal profession will also be considered when awarding merit scholarships.  No separate application required.

scholarships for returning students

Once you are a student at OCU LAW, a variety of institutional scholarships are available. Applications are accepted in the spring of their first year.  Most institutional awards are based strictly on classroom performance and rank.  Generally, students who received first-year renewable scholarships are not eligible for these awards.  Rather, they are reserved for students who did not receive awards as incoming students. Law students also have the opportunity to apply for external scholarships and to enter writing competitions as a means of acquiring financial assistance for law school.
