The Wisconsin Law Journal recently featured OCU LAW alumnus Christopher Wiesmuller, as he continues his challenge of Wisconsin’s diploma privilege.

Wisconsin is the only state in the nation that exempts in-state law graduates from taking the state’s bar exam while still requiring Wisconsin natives who earned their J.D.’s out of state must still take the exam.

Earlier this month, U.S. District Court Judge Barbara B. Crabb decertified the Wiesmuller’s class action challenging the state’s diploma privilege. Wiesmuller says he’ll continue to pursue the case representing his wife, Corrine, also a graduate of OCU LAW.

“I think a high number of people apply to the Wisconsin Bar who have gone to law school in the Twin Cities or Illinois,” Wiesmuller told the Wisconsin Law Journal. “Maybe those schools would be interested in developing a diploma privilege curriculum, if given the opportunity.”
