Purpose

The Corporate Law Association's purpose is to engage in programs and projects that are in the interest of future corporate lawyers or those that wish to have exposure to corporate law. CLA seeks to provide a forum for students as well as to aid in the academic development of future corporate lawyers. Most importantly, and through the implementation of these goals, CLA seeks to represent the OCU School of Law in the surrounding corporate legal community.

 

Membership

CLA meets at least once every month, and membership is open to all OCU law students. Membership dues are only $20 for the academic year, pro-rated at $10 for those desiring the join in the Spring semester.

Corporate Law Association provides programs and opportunities for students to network with professionals in the field of corporate law, develop crucial skills for future corporate lawyers, and socialize with fellow law students who share common career interests in corporate law.

CLA also provides students not seeking a career in corporate law with invaluable exposure to this important and encompassing area of law.

  • BOWL-C-U Law - CLA holds the annual bowling tournament every spring. A guaranteed good time and a chance to win great prizes!
  • Corporate Law / Non-Profits Collaborative - students develop materials for non-profit and grassroots organizations in collaboration with the Oklahoma Center for Non-Profits.
  • Meinders School of Business - CLA works hand in hand with the Meinders School of Business to incorporate opportunities for those obtaining a Joint Degree and for to provide additional networking for those not in the Joint Program.

  • Out in OKC - CLA-sponsored nights out at various Bricktown / local hotspots
  • Community Service - non-perishable drive, Easter egg hunt for law students with families, Habitat for Humanity
