Education:
B.A., Ohio Wesleyan University; M.S. Biochemistry, University of Washington; Ph.C. Doctoral Candidate, Biochemistry, University of Washington; M.D., University of Washington; J.D., Oklahoma City University School of Law. At OCU School of Law, Dr. Harris graduated first in his class, and received the Oklahoma Bar Association's Award for Excellence.
Practice:
Dr. Harris is the Chief of Endocrinology for the Chickasaw Indian Nation and Director of the Chickasaw Nation Diabetes Care Center. Prior to his current position, he was in private practice for more than 25 years, with a specialty of Diabetology.
Backgound:
Dr. Curtis Harris has been President of the Oklahoma Chapter of the American Diabetes Association; and in 1998 was the first physician in Oklahoma to receive the American Diabetes Association's Physician Excellence Award, with Distinction. In 2004, he was appointed by the Governor of Oklahoma to the Oklahoma Medical Licensure Board, in recognition of his work on improving clinical excellence and quality assurance in Oklahoma. Along with teaching as an adjunct professor at OCU School of Law, Dr. Harris is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine.
