Background:
Professor Blitz’s research focuses on constitutional law (particularly First Amendment free speech and Fourth Amendment search & seizure protections) and draws heavily on history and political theory. Prior to joining the Law School faculty, he practiced for four years at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP, in Washington D.C., where his practice areas included constitutional law, anti-terrorism security measures, telecommunications, privacy law, computer law and intellectual property. He also has dispute resolution experience as a mediator the Center for Conflict Resolution in Chicago and for the United States Postal Service, and as an arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau of Chicago and Northern Illinois.
He was a born in a little town by the name of New York City in lower New York State. But since he can no longer root for the Brooklyn Tip-Tops (they disappeared with the rest of the Federal League in 1915) he is now a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs.
