Practice:
Professor Giles has been a member of the defense team in the Terry Nichols case and before that was a trial attorney at the Federal Defenders of Eastern Washington and Idaho, representing indigent persons charged with or convicted of federal crimes at trial and sentencing, on appeal, and during federal habeas corpus proceedings. This work included briefing and arguing before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
