Donna GregoryEducation:
Donna is an OCU Honors student and a charter member of the OCU chapter of Phi Kappa Phi. She’s currently working on a B.A. in Philosophy and a B.A. in English and plans to pursue a Master of Library and Information Science upon graduation.
Responsibilities:
As the Law Library Director’s administrative assistant, Donna is responsible for a wide variety of things, including accounts payable and receivable, staff and student personnel and payroll records, supplies, building maintenance and repair, and an assortment of miscellaneous duties which keeps her on her toes. She serves on the Student Employee Advisory Board and the University Benefits Committee, and she is a volunteer tutor in the Learning Enhancement Center on the OCU campus.
Experience:
Donna worked as a legal assistant for six years before serving as executive assistant to the Assistant Treasurer for Sonic Corp. at their national headquarters in downtown Oklahoma City. She has been with the School of Law for five years, serving first as a faculty secretary before moving into her current position of administrative assistant for the law library.
Awards and Accomplishments:
Donna currently serves as Student Representative for the five-state Southwestern region of Sigma Tau Delta. This position holds a non-voting seat on the Board of Directors for Sigma Tau Delta, which is the third largest honor society in the Association of College Honor Societies. Donna produces monthly newsletters for her region has been instrumental in establishing a listserv for student and alumni members of Sigma Tau Delta. Donna currently sits on three international Sigma Tau Delta committees: Student Leadership, Electronic Communications, and Finance. She is the only student to hold a position on the Sigma Tau Delta finance committee.
In 2003, Donna served as Associate Student Representative for the Southwestern region and co-chaired the Southwestern regional Sigma Tau Delta conference held at OCU. This conference brought 82 students from 18 universities to OCU and is now used as the model for Sigma Tau Delta regional conferences.
Also in 2003, Donna won an Isabel Sparks President’s Writing Award at the Sigma Tau Delta international convention in Cincinnati, Ohio, for her creative non-fiction essay “Indelible.”
Interests:
In those rare moments when Donna’s not working or doing homework, she most enjoys writing screenplays and poetry, joyfully expressing her spirituality, and, perhaps most of all, hanging out with Gizmo, Piglet, and Short-Tail, her beloved orange tabby cats.
