Immigration Law Symposium Roundtable

Thursday, March 26, 5:00pm
Sarkeys Law Center Room 102

The Hispanic Law Student Association along with the Immigration Law Society will be hosting the Annual Immigration Symposium this week. This year’s symposium will be focused on the positive aspects that immigrants bring to this country and to our school. Because of the recent and on-going debate about immigration, the planning committee has decided to expose the positive impacts that immigrants have to our school.

Christina Misner-Pollard  Emma Victoria Rolls

Thursday is our round table discussion with members of our university. Faculty and current student will speak about their background as well as their respective experiences upon migrating to the United States. Professor Misner-Pollard will moderate the discussion. Professor Misner-Pollard runs the Immigration Law Clinic and teaches the substantive immigration law course. Prior to coming to OCU, she taught substantive immigration law as an adjunct professor at Seattle University School of Law.

The panel will consist of two student and one faculty member. Each panelist has migrated from their respective countries and has contributed to our school’s diversity. Professor Rolls, Natalia Jacobsen, and Thi Huyen will be our distinguish panel.
