American Association for Justice
As the world's largest trial bar, formerly known as Association of Trial Lawers of America, AAJ promotes justice and fairness for injured persons, safeguards victims' rights—particularly the right to trial by jury-—and strengthens the civil justice system through education and disclosure of information critical to public health and safety. With more than 59,000 members worldwide, and a network of U.S. and Canadian affiliates involved in diverse areas of trial advocacy, AAJ provides lawyers with the information and professional assistance needed to serve clients successfully and protect the democratic values inherent in the civil justice system.
Our chapter of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) focuses on educating our members on the fundamentals of litigation.

2004-2005
The OCU AAJ chapter seeks to be a benefit to our members as well as the law school student body. Last year we offered a seminar series encompassing the major aspects of a trial. AAJ brought in exciting and knowledgeable attorney’s from the Oklahoma City area to explain both the fundamental and the practical aspects of each part of the trial process. At the conclusion of the speaker series Judges Jackson and McElwee held a riveting presentation on the do’s and don'ts in the courtroom.

Becky Durrett, City of OKC, visits the first AAJ's meeting for the 2002-2003 academic year to present an award of recognition for AAJ's participation in the "Adopt a Street" program. AAJ's efforts saved the City of Oklahoma City more than $800 in 2001-2002.
2005-2006
The OCU AAJ chapter will have judges and Justices from almost every level of court in the state speaking on a variety of subjects. We will have more of the state’s best and best known attorney’s speaking on topic’s that will benefit anyone in the legal profession. Plus activities and benefits for members only such as scheduled tours of legal venues and a “real law” seminar series.
