Archives and Special Collections Department
Policy
The OCU Archivist and Special Collections Librarian collects and preserves historical materials having to do with the history of the Methodist Church in Oklahoma and the history of Oklahoma City University. The archives are open to the faculty, staff, students and the general public by appointment. Access will be granted only when the Special Collections Librarian (or other library employee) can remain in the archives with the patron. Copying of material is permitted if the item can withstand the wear and tear of being placed on the copy machine. The Special Collections Librarian will make this determination.
With special permission, books, documents, photographs and other material from the archives can be lent to faculty and staff of Oklahoma City University for research. Since most of the items in the archives are unique and cannot be replaced, security of this material is a priority. Archival materials cannot be loaned to persons outside the University.
