Mathematics
News and Student Success

Dr. Charles Samuels has been very busy this semester. He seems to always have students in his office. Dr. Samuels is a new hire and brings fresh energy to the Mathematics department. He hails from Boston, MA and  finished his Ph.D. in 2007 at the University of Texas at Austin. He worked as a lecturer in the same department the following academic year. He also had postdoctoral fellowships at the Max-Planck-Institut für Mathematik, the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University before arriving at OCU in 2011.

Did you know that no graduate students or teaching assistants teach our classes? All of our faculty members hold a Ph.D. degree. We are extremely glad to have Dr. Samuels as part of the Arts and Sciences family!
