MLA 6003 - Liberal Arts in Western Culture (3 hours)
At least 8 graduate level Mass Communications Courses (24 hours)
Required Mass Communications Courses:
MLAC 6003 - Mass Communications Research Strategies Skills (3 hours)
MLAC 5103 - Legal and Ethical Principles for the Mass Media (3 hours)
18 Hours of Electives from the Following:
MLAC 5113 - Presentation Skills
MLAC 5203 - The New Media
MLAC 5303 - Media Management
MLAC 5403 - Broadcast Communications
MLAC 5513 - Corporate Communications
MLAC 6413 - Advertising Creative Strategies
MLAC 6713 - Print Production Techniques
MBIM 6903 - Strategic Development and Creative Management
MBIM 6913 - Applications I: Advertising and Sales Promotion
MBIM 6923 - Applications II: Public Relations and Direct Marketing
Three Liberal Arts elective courses: (9 hours)
TOTAL: 36 HOURS
MLA Mass Communications students are also required to complete a comprehensive exam before the end of their final semester. The grading committee will be composed of three faculty members from the Mass Communications Department. Grading is on a Pass/Fail basis.
*Occasionally, the faculty in the Mass Communications Department may invite students to enroll in additional, specialized Mass Communications courses. These courses can be substituted for the Liberal Arts Electives.
