The OCU Performing Arts Academy Summer Strings Program is designed to provide expert training and performance experience for strings musicians of all ages.
Through instruction provided by our faculty you will be inspired and challenged to develop as a musician and a performer.
SUZUKI STRINGS PROGRAM (ages three through nine)
Dates: June 9 - 13 (violin only) August 4 - 8 Faculty: Sara Litzner, Suzuki guitar Caitlin White, Suzuki violin
Summer Suzuki String Program is a week long, half-day program (9AM - 12 noon) for students age 3 – 9. This program is perfect for children who have never played or studied an instrument.
The Suzuki Method allows young children to play an instrument before they have the ability to read music. By listening and imitation, children are able to quickly adapt to an instrument. The Performing Arts Academy is one of the few locations in the state of Oklahoma certified to provide Suzuki instruction.
Students select either Suzuki violin or Suzuki guitar studies. Students receive instrumental classroom training and an introduction to music theory through class instruction.
To apply for this program, please complete the summer application, which may be found here.
