MID-HIGH MUSICAL THEATER PROGRAM
PROGRAM INFORMATION
Program length: 2 weeks
Session dates: June 23 - July 8
Cost: $2,300
Audition Required: Yes audition required. See below for details.
Age Range: This program is recommended for students who are currently in the 8th - 10th grade.
Audition submission will be accepted by mail beginning December 1st, 2011.
OVERVIEW
The Theater Voice Program is a residential program designed specifically for current 9th and 10th graders and 8th graders who have previously attended our Jr. High Music Theater program. It will focus on the techniques and development of healthy vocal production and acting skills while preparing for a final revue performance.
DETAILS
During this two-week intensive program, students will gain knowledge in both process and performance that will culminate in a production of scenes from the classical musical theater repertoire. In addition to acting and vocal technique classes, students will receive private lessons in vocal repertoire from our music theater staff, master classes with Bass School of Music faculty and focus on the individual.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
•Two songs - one should be a pre-1970 musical theater selection and one song of your choice. Songs should not exceed three minutes each.
•A theatrical monologue. Tthe monologue should not exceed one minute.
•Applicants should be recorded live with a live piano accompaniment (no backing/karaoke tracks).
•Recordings of live stage performances/shows are not acceptable.
•Submissions must be on DVD.
•Students must include include a headshot (if you do not have a headshot, a school picture is fine) and performance resume.
