Bass School Choral Ensembles
Choral ensembles at Oklahoma
City University share a hundred years of history and a rich tradition of
excellence. The Bass School's three major choirs perform a varied repertoire --
ranging from medieval masterpieces to world premieres -- in a variety of venues.
Under the leadership of
Dr. Randi Von
Ellefson, director of choral activities, the singers rehearse four times a
week. Auditions are open to any OCU student. For more information, contact Dr.

Ad Astra ('To the Stars')
Ad Astra, a 60-voice women's ensemble, is open by audition to all women at Oklahoma City University. It is comprised primarily of undergraduate and graduate music majors from the Bass School of Music. The ensemble performs a cappella and accompanied choral literature of all styles and periods, and presents at least four concerts a year.

University Singers
University Singers, a 45-member mixed-voice ensemble, is open by audition to all undergraduates at Oklahoma City University. Most of its members are freshman and sophomores in the Bass School of Music. University Singers performs both a cappella and accompanied choral literature, presenting small and large works for mixed chorus of all choral styles and periods.

University Men's Chorus:
University Men's Chorus, a 44-voice male ensemble, is open by audition to all men at Oklahoma City University but is comprised, primarily, of undergraduate music majors.

Chamber Choir:
Chamber Choir is a mixed-voice ensemble, open by audition to all upperclassmen at Oklahoma City University, consisting primarily of upperclassmen in the Bass School of Music. The ensemble performs advanced choral literature and requires refined sight-reading skills.
