| Founded in 1997 by a group of OCU composers, Project 21 is committed to bringing original musical works to life. As students strive to gain insight into the working knowledge of music, they each draw from their cultural and musical backgrounds to enrich the program. Project 21 composers learn through experience, developing compositional techniques that allow them to express their authentic selves. Students gain
experience through critical and creative processes by
bringing original work from its conceptual stage to the
reality of rehearsal, revision and performance. OCU Project
21 Concert Series for the 2004-05 academic year will be held
October 8, December 4, February 11, and April 8.
Other performances opportunities include:
Music Assemblies: The Bass School of Music hosts
thrice-monthly assemblies for student performances..
Ensemble Readings: Orchestral readings and
recordings of student works are held each year. Other Groups
-- including the University choirs, Percussion Ensemble, and
Wind Philharmonic -- also read and perform Project 21 works.
Other Opportunities: OCU dance shows, OCU art
exhibits, and community theater companies provide venues for
new students works.
