Ensemble Library Policies
and Procedures
Instrument
Placement Audition Procedures
- Check in 20-30 minutes early with the monitor.
- Enter the room quietly. Do not talk while in the
room.
- All music will be ready on a stand. Play your prepared
audition music.
- You will then play the sight-reading material marked
on the stand as such.
- Quietly leave the audition room.
If
you have any question at any time, leave the room and ask the monitor.
Instrument
Check Out & Locker Policies
- School Instruments may be signed out through the
Ensemble Library and stored in assigned lockers. You are responsible
for the instrument you check-out. You are liable for any loss, misuse
and/or damage beyond normal wear that may occur while the instrument
is in your possession.
- Every Instrumentalist will be assigned a personal
locker through the Ensemble Library and you must provide a lock for
this locker.
- A limited number of hall lockers will be available
to all students at a first-come-first-serve basis.
All
lockers must be signed-out through the Ensemble Library.
All school owned
instruments must be checked in upon request or no later than the spring
commencement exercises in May. Failure to return instruments
will result in fines and withholding of grades.
Policies
For Opera & Music Theater Score and Orchestral Part Check-out
- Every student
must sign for a score, orchestral part and/or script.
- Orchestra members
will receive their parts in rehearsal following placement auditions.
- All cast members
will receive their scores/parts in the cast meeting following cast
postings.
- The scores should
be marked with only #2 lead pencils. Pencil marks and other editions
must be completely removed before being returned. Remember to mark
you scores lightly with a pencil if necessary. This complies with
the rental agreement contracts.
- All orchestral
scores must be left on stands following the last performance of a
show.
- All vocal scores
and scripts must be returned during TECH WEEK on the date set by the
director's assistant.
- All scores and
parts that are not returned on the designated times are considered
LATE. If they are late, fines will be incurred following that time.
If a score or part is lost, replacement fees possibly exceeding one
hundred dollars will be added to any and all fines.
- In addition
to the fines, the University Cashier will be notified and the student's
account will be put on hold until the matter is cleared through the
Ensemble Library.
Ensemble
Parts Policy
- All ensemble
members will receive music and a folder.
- Each member
is responsible for any loss, damage or misuse of music or folders.
- Wind Philharmonic
and Orchestra members are to leave their entire folders on their music
stands following each performance.
- Choir members
are to return their entire folders to the choir manager when requested.
- All Jazz Band
members are to return their entire folders upon request.
- All ensemble
members who do not return or lose parts and folders will be fined.
Replacement fees may exceed one hundred dollars.
- In addition
to the fines, the University Cashier will be notified and the student's
account will be put on hold until the matter is cleared through the
Ensemble Library.
Hymnal
Check-out Policies
All hymnals
may be signed out through the Ensemble Library for the year.
ALL HYMNALS must
be checked in no later than the spring commencement exercises in May. MAKE SURE YOU AND THE STAFF MEMBER SIGNS THE CHECK OUT FORM
UP ON RETURN OF THE HYMNAL. Failure to return ALL HYMNALS will result
in fines and withholding of grades.
All
Other Music Check-out Policies
All other
printed music materials not mentioned in any other policy may be signed
out through the Ensemble Library.
ALL MATERIALS must
be checked in no later than the spring commencement exercises on May
11th, 2002. MAKE SURE YOU AND THE STAFF MEMBER SIGNS THE CHECK OUT FORM
UP ON RETURN OF THE PRINTED MUSIC. Failure to return ALL MATERIALS will
result in fines and withholding of grades.
Choir
Robe Policy
All choir
members will be assigned a choir robe through the course of the year.
You are responsible for this robe and for its return to the choir room.
Any damage, abuse, or loss of any robe or stole will result in replacement
and repair fees.
