For the past three seasons, Brian Osborne has been head coach, music director of scenes, and, in 2008, assistant conductor at Opera in the Ozarks. Before his Oklahoma City University appointment, he taught at the Manhattan School of Music and was vocal coach/accompanist, recitalist, and instructor of vocal literature and opera literature at University of Mississippi.
Osborne has conducted and performed in dozens of productions, from Die Fleidermaus to Footloose to Face on the Barroom Floor. He was rehearsal pianist and assistant to the music director at Ole Miss Opera Theater scenes program, and principal pianist with the Ash Lawn Festival. He has been principal coach and/or accompanist at Utah Festival Opera, Knoxville Opera, Virginia Opera, University of Tennessee Opera, Regina Opera, Augusta Opera, Opera Iowa, Athena Grand Opera and Opera North.
Osborne has earned two Master of Music degrees: in accompanying, from University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and in voice performance from Florida State University. His undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia School of Music is in voice performance with a minor in piano.
