Tomasz Zieba

Tomasz Zieba is adjunct instructor of Cello at Oklahoma City University, Wanda L. Bass School of Music. Born in Krakow (Poland) began his cello education at the age of seven. After graduating from M. Karlowicz School of Music, Mr. Zieba continued his cello studies at the Music Academy in Krakow under the instructions of Professor Henryk Zarzycki.

In United States Mr. Zieba has completed Bachelor of Music degree at Texas Christian University and received Artist Certificate Diploma and Masters of Music degree in Cello Performance from Southern Methodist University (Dallas, Texas). Mr. Zieba has studied cello with Ko Iwasaki (soloist-performing artist), Christopher Adkins (principal cello-Dallas Symphony Orchestra), Brinton Smith (principal cello-Houston Symphony Orchestra) and John Burton.

In addition to his work at the Wanda L. Bass School of Music (OCU), Mr. Zieba holds associate principal cello position with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra and is co-principal cellist for Plano Symphony Orchestra. In the past he served as principal cellist of the Irving Symphony Orchestra and has received several orchestral appointments including New World Symphony, Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra and Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra.

As a recitalist, chamber musician or ensemble member Tomasz Zieba has performed and taught master classes in Poland, Spain, Austria, Germany, France, Mexico and the United States. Mr. Zieba is also a very dedicated chamber musician and performs regularly as a member of the Brightmusic Chamber Ensemble in Oklahoma City.
