Transfer students must contact Dr. Erik Heine to discuss the appropriate class assignment for Theory Studies. In order for your credits to be effectively evaluated, you will need to provide copies of your syllabi for both Theory and Aural Skills, and exams if you have them. - Ensemble Placement Auditions
(Wind Philharmonic, Symphony Orchestra, & Choral)
- Piano Placement
All incoming students will be placed in Class Piano I. If you believe you do not belong in a beginning piano class, please contact Becky Maxwell at bmaxwell@okcu.edu to schedule a piano placement. The placement exams will take place during orientation. For the placement exam you will be asked to play scales, arpeggios, and harmonization. You will also need to prepare a small piece. It does not need to be memorized.
- Dance Leveling
Dance Leveling in Jazz, Tap and Ballet Sunday, August 24, 1-7:30 PM – Gaylord Center, West Lobby and Studio J. - All new Music Theater students are required to attend. Wear comfortable clothing and dance shoes. Students will be enrolled in dance classes by the School of Dance before classes begin.
