High School Organ Competition
Saturday, January 28, 2012
The competition will take place in the Bishop W. Angie Smith Chapel. The competition is open to any high school-aged organ student.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS:
Multiple full-tuition and half-tuition scholarships will be available to
qualified applicants who agree to matriculate at Oklahoma City University.
Full-tuition scholarships are valued at $90,000 over a 4-year period.
Half-tuition scholarships are valued at $45,000 over a 4-year period.
Students must plan to pursue a Bachelor of Music degree in Organ Performance or Church Music with organ as their primary instrument. Scholarship recipients must meet the general admission requirements of Oklahoma City University and must fulfill all application requirements for the School of Music and Oklahoma City University. Scholarships are renewable for four years of undergraduate study, provided that students continue to meet the standards and requirements of the Wanda L. Bass School of Music. Students will be subject to annual reviews and adjudication to determine continuing scholarship status.
Judges may choose to award scholarships to students who are not currently high school seniors; restrictions will apply. (See #4 on signature page for more details.)
CASH PRIZES:
Wanda L. Bass First Prize: $1,500 and
Winner’s Recital on Saturday, January 28, 2012
Oklahoma City AGO Second Prize: $750
Third Prize: $500
Dr. Antone Godding Hymn Prize: $500 (separate from other prizes)
