Major Hollywood Film Producer to Speak at Oklahoma City University
Producer of ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra’ and ‘The Mummy’ Movies Will Give Public Q&A OKLAHOMA CITY – The producer of numerous Hollywood blockbusters will visit Oklahoma City University next week to give students and the local community a look at filmmaking. Bob Ducsay, who has produced or edited more than two dozen films including all of “The Mummy” movies, “G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra” and “The Jungle Book” will give a public presentation at 7 p.m. Oct. 30 at OCU’s Petree Auditorium, located in the Kirkpatrick Fine Arts Center at N.W. 25th St. and Blackwelder Ave. Ducsay also will visit with film and theater students while he is at OCU. He will discuss special effects for film and his work as both an editor and a producer. He will also host a question-and-answer session. Ducsay was both editor and producer of “The Mummy” series and several other films. “It’s unusual for a producer to be as technically savvy as Bob Ducsay is,” said Fritz Kiersch, department chair for OCU’s Moving Image Arts Program. Kiersch, who directed “Children of the Corn” among various other films, has previously worked with Ducsay. For more information, email fkiersch@okcu.edu.
