OKLAHOMA CITY – CPA Donna Nance has been named chief financial officer at Oklahoma City University.
Nance will assume the position July 9. She will replace outgoing CFO Brian Holland.
Nance spent the last five years at Southern Nazarene University as vice president for financial affairs and chief financial officer. She is a consultant and evaluator for the Accreditation Review Council and Financial Panel of the Higher Learning Commission.
“We are pleased to welcome Donna Nance to Oklahoma City University. She is a very accomplished financial executive whose experience and reputation in higher education finance will serve our university well,” said OCU President Robert Henry. “We know she is trained well. She holds an MBA from OCU’s Meinders School of Business.”
OCU Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Susan Barber said Nance’s experience with the Higher Learning Commission will help the university better understand Higher Learning Commission processes.
“We are developing that expertise on campus,” Barber said. “Donna Nance has a very high level of knowledge and has trained with the Higher Learning Commission to conduct accreditation visits.”
In addition to her experience at Southern Nazarene University, Nance has served as vice president of business and finance at Oklahoma City Community College and as a senior auditor for the Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector’s Office.
“As an OCU alumnna, it is a great honor to be joining the university’s leadership team,” Nance said. “I am excited for the opportunities that await us as we prepare OCU’s students to graduate and serve in their communities.”
Nance holds a Master of Business Administration degree in finance from Oklahoma City University and a Bachelor of Arts in accounting and business administration from Hope College in Michigan.
She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Oklahoma Association of Certified Public Accountants and the national and state Association of College and University Business Officers.
